Course Content

We offer the UAL accredited 2 year Extended Diploma course, which is equivalent to 3 A-levels (worth up to 168 UCAS points). This qualification is fully government funded for ages 16-18, with extra training and workshops available at an additional cost.

Within this course you can choose to specialise in Musical Theatre, Acting or Dance.

All three pathways attend core technique classes in acting, singing, jazz, ballet and tap. Everyone does a bit of everything to make you as employable as possible with well-rounded training.

However the rest of your timetable will be determined by your chosen pathway. Assessments and projects are specific to your chosen pathway, and depending on your strand you will have a mix of the following making up your timetable!

SINGING: technique (all), portfolio, musical theatre repertoire, audition technique, practitioner focus...

ACTING: screen acting, self-tapes, stagecraft, improvisation, physical theatre, Shakespeare, puppetry, accents, mask, Voice, silent movies, Greek theatre, audition technique...

DANCE: jazz, ballet, tap (all), commercial, contemporary, Broadway, lyrical, heels, stretch, audition technique, body conditioning, tricks...

FAQs

The academic year starts each September, with auditions held in December, February, April and June. Entry is by audition only. Late transfers for exceptional students would be accepted up to four weeks into the first term, subject to eligibility

Qualification only: approx 19 hours per week or 3.5 days, excluding termly show weeks which are full time. This is fully government funded for ages 16-18

Full course: qualification hours (fully government funded) plus additional classes to take your training up to 35 - 40 hours per week across 5 days. Top up fees apply

Reynolds Performing Arts keeps fees for all courses to a minimum. We believe that everyone with potential has the right to access our exceptional training.

Students ages 16-18 are fully government funded for the qualification hours. Students aged 19+ are eligible to apply for the Advanced Learner Loan to cover the qualification fee. If you would like to pay privately the fees are £7,395.

Additional costs
There are optional top up contact hours for the full course in dance, singing, acting, portfolio classes, improvers and advanced classes, audition technique and guest workshops. These come at an additional cost of £1,500 annually - this can be paid in instalments across the year, or in full prior to the academic year commencing. It is not compulsory to complete these hours.

There is a production fee of £250 with a non refundable £99 deposit. This pays for optional private singing lessons, professional videography, headshots, theatre trips and additional opportunities across the academic year.

Auditions

Your audition requirements will differ depending on the pathway you have chosen. If you are unsure at this stage please audition for the musical theatre pathway.

Attend dance workshop classes in Ballet and Jazz
(required for muscial theatre or dance pathways)
Candidates wishing to be considered for the Dance Pathway will also need to prepare a dance solo of approximately 1 minute 30 seconds in a discipline of their own choice.

Attend an acting workshop
(required for musical theatre or acting pathways)
Candidates wishing to be considered for the Acting Pathway will also need to prepare a monologue of up to 2 minutes.

Singing audition
(required for musical theatre pathway)
Candidates should prepare a musical theatre song of 32 bars/1 minute in length.

All candidates will also be interviewed by the Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager. During the interview, questions will be asked that are pertinent to the candidate’s goals, aspirations, and prior academic and performance achievement(s).

All auditions are in person at our Dartford site however, in special circumstances, we may accept a virtual audition. Please contact us to find out more.
