This part time face-to-face course is designed for adults who want to become a fully qualified gym instructor and personal trainer, and then progress onto a career in the fitness industry.

This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a level 3 personal trainer including:

There is also a 1 day workshop included in level 3, to give real life class experience. We invite industry experts to demonstrate their skills and answer any questions you may have about the industry.

FAQs

March & September start dates

This qualification if for ages 16 plus and aims to train learners to a professionally competent level, enabling them to prescribe, plan and deliver safe and effective exercise programmes developing their skills knowledge to pursue a career in personal training.

The course is 2 days per week for 20 weeks.

Our courses are fully funded* for ages 16-18 and for 19+ learners funding is available via the advanced learning loan*.

*Subject to eligibility

  • Ages 16-18 must have a grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths & English (19+ not required, subject to interview).
  • Some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, is highly recommended.
  • The course requires physical exertion, and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.
  • There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication.

There is a telephone interview for all learners in order to be accepted onto the course, with limited spaces available.

A kit list will be sent to you to purchase before the start of the course.
