Kathy trained at the Deborah Capon Dance School, studying Associate qualifications, along with Advanced exams, in Modern, Tap and National, and on completion of her training there was employed as a teacher in the College. From 1996 to 2013 Kathy shared the responsibility for training full-time students in Modern Theatre and Tap up to Advanced 2 level, as well as DDI and DDE in both genres, also coaching teachers up to Fellowship level. In 2014 Dance College Whitstable was formed with Kathy as Principal where she continues to coach DDE, Licentiate and Fellowship in Modern and Tap. Kathy was also on the Board of Trustees for The Gordon Edwards Charitable Trust from 2014-2019.
In 2019 she was delighted to join Reynolds Performing Arts College as the DDE tutor for Modern.
