FOUNDED IN 1987 BY EMMA REYNOLDS
Reynolds Retreat was originally a Victorian house built by the Routes family, who were the first to import a car into the UK, they later sold the property to the Borough Council. Children were housed in the property during the war and there are connections to Basted Mill that made waterleaf paper from old clothing – hence the current ‘Waterleaf’ restaurant name.
Over the years extensions were added either side of the main house, and it was used as offices until it was remodelled and refurbished into the health and spa Retreat, a renovation project that took over 18 months to complete.
I am proud to own such a beautiful estate, that people can enjoy on a spa day, as a member or work here in our rentable office spaces.
