Ballet
From 3 years up
Classical ballet is the foundation of all dance styles. Children and learners are encouraged to acquire a sound basic technique combined with an understanding of co-ordination and musical interpretation which are the essentials of a pure classical training. Numerous outstanding teachers, and classical dancers in major international ballet companies, have been wholly trained within the Imperial Classical Ballet syllabi.

- Baby Ballet 3-4 years
- Pre-school Ballet 4-5 years
- Grade 1 Ballet 6-8 years
- Grade 2 Ballet 9 years
- Grade 3 Ballet 10 up
- Grade 4 Ballet must have taken exams to attend this standard
- Grade 5 Ballet must have taken exams to attend this standard
- Intermediate Ballet must have taken exams to attend this standard
From grade 4 it is advised that you participate in two ballet classes per week to reach the required standard and strength for examinations.
Pointe work (invitation only by the teacher)

Modern
From 4 years up
Modern Theatre Dance defies a single permanent definition. This is largely due to its ability to adapt, develop and evolve with the changing fashion in dance. Through a carefully planned and well established examination syllabus, which combines modern dance, jazz and other more funky dance styles, young people are trained to become disciplined and versatile dancers who have a professional attitude towards dance.

- Grade 1 Modern 7-8 years
- Grade 2 Modern 9 years
- Grade 3 Modern 10 years
- Grade 4 11 years up
- Grade 5 Modern must have taken exams to attend this standard.
- Grade 6 Modern must have taken exams to attend this standard.
- Intermediate Modern must have taken exams to attend this standard.
- Advanced 1 Modern must have taken exams to attend this standard.

Tap
From 4 years up
Apart from being an essential skill for the professional dancer, tap dance is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic forms of recreational dance. The syllabi have been carefully developed in order to provide a fully comprehensive training both for children and young adults who wish to dance for pleasure and for those interested in a professional training and, therefore, wishing to study for the major Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 examinations.

Jazz
From 4 years up
Funky style that adapts to trends within the commercial dance and music field. If you want an idea of the type of moves, watch MTV or recent pop videos.

- Boys Street Jazz 5+
- Street Jazz 8yrs+
- Advanced Jazz 12yrs+
Hip Hop
From 8 years up
A commercial style with areas of popping and locking.
- Boys Hip Hop 8+
- Inter Hip Hop 9+
- Advanced Hip Hop 12+
Glee Club
- Younger: Age 5+
- Older: Age 9+
Glee Club is singing with movement from pop to musical theatre, working towards productions at the end of the year. You will find the children increase in confidence and ability in all areas of the Performing Arts, whilst making new friends and having fantastic fun.
Performance Stage Skills
Preparatory School
From 11 years up (by invite and audition only, must have attained grade three in Ballet, Tap and Modern) Performance Stage Skills is for the more serious dancer who is considering a career in the Performing Arts, with teachers hot off the press from the West End. This course gives learners the perfect opportunity to gain the technical skills and invaluable knowledge needed to gain entry to college and a professional career. Due to the high standard required this course is only available to learners that show potential, enthusiasm, commitment and of course talent in all dance fields. Learners are often invited to perform in other shows and college events throughout the year.
Classes
Students must attend: One Ballet, modern and tap class per week grade 4 or above. Performance Stage Skills sessions: 1 hour 30minutes Dance/Musical theatre and 1 hour Singing/Acting.
