Parents for example might like to let us know about their child's recent audition success, or students may like to pass on information regarding 'must see' shows and future auditions. Staff will be welcome to use this forum to let others know of their own recent successes for example, or maybe to pass on articles of interest regarding the students training. Whatever it may be, we will all be eager to hear your good news!

Full-time Student Showcase 2005

Reynolds Performing Arts Full time students presented us with their end of year show in July at The Playhouse Theatre in Sevenoaks. There was much excitement from the audience in anticipation of the night’s performance of which, we were not going to be disappointed! This show was packed with a true variety of work with Drama, Musical Theatre and Dance, each number highlighting the individual talents of the performers and the excellence of the chorographers. This however, was a night for the ‘Boys’! With Reynolds increasing intake of Boys to the college we are now seeing a new dimension of the training offered by the college, which really lifted the show. The boys excelled in musical theatre, bringing the house down with notable performances from Charlie Mills (yr2), Fred Nye (yr2) and Shane Hamshire (yr1). It was again in Musical Theatre that some of the girls also gave us some of their best performances. Hayley Ellis (yr3) in ‘Sweeney Todd’ gave a very convincing performance, as did Vicki Sherman (yr2) and Tim Allen (yr2) in their individual pieces. The standard of dance was fantastic and in particular Ballet where the girls won us over with a very clever piece on point choreographed by Caroline Madden. Although individual pieces stood out on the night the whole show was very cleverly put together and made for a good evenings entertainment. Good luck to the young person I was sitting next to who is starting at Reynolds in September! And, well done to all the students and staff at Reynolds who took part and helped to make this a fantastic evening!

Part-time Student Showcase 2005
Parents, family and friends watched with great excitement the Theatre and Preparatory school put on a show of drama, dance and musical theatre at The Playhouse Sevenoaks.
Children from Reynolds Saturday theatre school performed exerts from Oliver! together with Jazz and Modern dance routines. There were certainly some up and coming stars that already belong to the part-time dance school and some budding actors amongst this team of youngsters. It was good to see lots of new faces performing, amongst them some older boys from the senior section who were a treat to watch! The Prep school produced an outstanding performance, which highlighted the excellent training these young people are now acquiring. With such a high standard it will be interesting to watch these young people, as many of them progress through the college. Well done to everyone who took part!

A Chorus Line’

Once again Reynolds Performing Arts wowed its audience with a fantastic performance of the show ‘A Chorus Line’. Reynolds full-time students are continuously raising their standards in dance and musical theatre, which was evident at this show.
The young people worked well together with some exceptional individual talent, including Mark Nelson, Danielle Holbrook, Alicia James and Fred Nye, who gave one of their best performances to date.
The show highlighted not only the quality and standard of the students, but also that of the teaching faculty at Reynolds.
Students who are in their final year are now looking forward to employment within the industry, with many of them already in secured jobs.
What a fantastic night! Well done everyone.

A Chorus Line workshop

‘A Chorus Line’ Workshop
'

Prior to the full time student production of ‘A Chorus Line’ a workshop was held for young people between 8 and 16 years old, over two days at ‘The Playhouse’ Sevenoaks.
They had a great time learning some dance, singing and musical theatre from ‘A Chorus Line’, which ended with an on stage performance for family and friends on the last day. The children had obviously worked hard and learnt so much in such a short time. Their performance was exciting and had clearly provided everyone, no matter their ability, a chance to ‘shine’ .
The two days training proved so popular with the children that Reynolds is now planning further workshops.
Don’t’ forget to check the Reynolds Website for forthcoming events.
