And the nutrition tip from Bexley

Now that the weather is finally heating up for what looks to be a fantastic summer, it’s time to look at nutritional ways we can prevent our skin from becoming dry and damaged, along with drinking plenty of water and regularly topping up our sun lotion!

During the summer months our skin becomes less supple due to sweating throughout the majority of the day, and also particularly when on holiday, after spending time in the pool or on the beach (saltwater and chlorine also have a drying effect).

For weathered skin it is recommended that we eat foods such as Raspberries, Blueberries, and Strawberries as they are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. Protein is also helpful; in the form of lean meats, beans, nuts and seeds.

As we lose calcium through sweating we should also be regularly replacing it with low-fat dairy products such as skimmed milk, yoghurt and cottage cheese.
