Body Shape Up – Exercising in a way thats relevant to your body shape is important to complement your shape and improve your body image.
If you are an apple shape you tend to have a fuller bust, waist and upper back and hold body fat around your abdomen. Bottom and legs are smaller. Your appearence is therefore top heavy.
As such toning the shoulders and chest with shaping the legs will help improve your body image.
Also increase your CV to reduce abdomen body fat, For example – Complete a swiss ball chest press but use single arm presses to improve core stability.
Use the reverse fly to tone the upper back and shoulders – Sit on the edge of a bench and lean forward onto the thighs, hold weights at your side and proceed to pull the weights back and upwards until level with the chest then return.
For the legs complete a walking lunge with or without holding dumbells by your side, ensure your knee alignment is good and do not rush each rep.
Jump squats – Hold a medicine ball at chest height, squat down 3/4 of the way the explode upwards just so the feet just leave the floor, land with soft knees and go stright into the next rep. Keep the core engaged throughout.
For toning complete 3-4 sets of 15 reps.
