The course aims to promote the technical creative and imaginative skills, intellectual grasp and the physical and artistic maturity that are required to work successfully in the professional theatre. Students use improvisation to explore own life experiences, to develop understanding of characters’ motives and to use and control emotions. Students also learn specialist techniques for acting in film and TV and, throughout the course, have tutorials on audition speeches, script analysis, theatre history and various styles of acting. Voice and speech coaching plays an important part in the final year. The course reinforces the work covered in the first two years and enables each student to gain a flexible, well-modulated voice, able to tackle a wide variety of roles with the strength and skill to project in large auditoria. |
